Children, Youth & Family Ministries

Sunday School For All Ages, September-May: On Sunday morning, we have Sunday School from 10:45-11:30am for ages PreK (3 years old) - adult.

Confirmation Classes For 7th-9th Grade Families: Students, staff and parent leaders gather each Wednesday evening from September through May with their peers from St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sterling, and Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Falls, using the "Co-laborate" Confirmation curriculum. This two-and-a-half-year program involves parent participation, learning, service to others, and safe, fun events led by caring adults.

TGIF For High School Students: Throughout the year, Teens Gathered In Faith meet periodically for special events. Events are updated and advertised on the monthly church calendar and the youth Facebook page. For more information, "like" our Branches Youth & Family Ministries Facebook page!

CommUNITY VBS logo
CommUNITY Vacation Bible School (VBS) - Each summer St. John's participates in the Sterling-Rock Falls CommUNITY VBS (a collaboration of local congregations providing VBS as a free 1-week event for families in our communities with Pre-K age 4 through fifth grade). Location moves to a new church location each year. VBS Meets in the evening, Sunday through Thursday, with a free dinner each night.

Worship Arts

St. John's has a rich musical history that continues today. For more information on our vocal choirs, handbell choirs, praise & worship team or special music, contact Music Director Dawn Zeigler.

Worship Tech

Technology plays a large part in worship services today. Each Sunday our services are enhanced with audio and video. For more information on how you can help, contact Technical Director Kyle Morgan.
